I'm Really Upset': Graham Says Dems' Goal Was to Delay Filling of SCOTUS Seat Beyond Midterms

Following Christine Blasey Ford's  testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee , Sen. Lindsey Graham called out Democrats for employing "ambush" tactics in their handling of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's accuser. Ford, a California professor, has accused Kavanaugh of forcing himself on her when they were both Maryland high school students in the early 1980s. Kavanaugh has emphatically denied the allegation, but Ford's sexual assault claim and several others have placed his confirmation in doubt. Graham (R-S.C.) said he's "really upset" that Democrats knew about Ford's accusation in August, but they didn't bring it up during Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings or reveal it to the committee so it could be immediately investigated. He said Ford's claim that committee staff would not fly out to California to interview her is "a bunch of bull," and he believes Democrats are playing politics with the accusations

Gingrich: Dems Displayed 'Most Despicable Behavior By a Major Party in Modern History'

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said Thursday on "The Ingraham Angle" that the Democrats at the Kavanaugh hearing displayed the "most despicable behavior by a major party in modern history." "Is there a single Democrat with the guts to stand up and vote for this judge?" Gingrich asked, calling the proceedings an "utter character assassination." He and Ingraham mentioned several red-state senators who should consider joining Republicans, including Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Joe Donnelly of Indiana. In a late evening statement obtained by Fox News, another red-state senator, Doug Jones of Alabama, announced he will be voting against Kavanaugh's confirmation. "The Kavanaugh nomination process has been flawed from the beginning and incomplete at the end. Dr. Ford was credible and courageous and I am concerned about the message our vote will be sending to our sons and daug

German, wie means

In German,  wie  means "as."  The word  als  also means "as." It's no wonder so people learning German get confused between the two. Luckily, if you can memorize two simple rules, you can master the difference and continue on your way toward German fluency.  The mistake:    Wie  (adverb/ conjunction ) is often used instead of  als  (only a conjunction) and vice versa. For example, incorrect use might read: Er ist grӧβer wie sein Vater. (Intended to say: He is taller than his father.) Dieses Auto ist teurer wie mein letztes.  (Intended to say: This car is more expensive than my last one.) The correct way to phrase these sentence would be: Er ist grӧβer als sein Vater. Dieses Auto ist teurer als mein letztes. What's the Difference Between 'Als' and 'Wie?' Though both  wie  and  als  are used when comparing two items or people, remember that: 1.  Wie  is used solely when both things compared are equal 2.  Als

A Brief History of U.S.-Israeli-Palestinian Relations

Image
Even though Palestine is not an official state, the U.S. and Palestine have a long history of rocky diplomatic relations. With Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas set to appeal for the creation of a Palestinian state at the United Nations  on September 19, 2011—and the U.S. set to veto the measure—that foreign policy history is again in the spotlight. The story of U.S.-Palestinian relations is lengthy, and it obviously includes much of the history of  Israel . This is the first of several articles on the U.S.-Palestinian-Israeli relationship. History Palestine  is an  Islamic  region, or perhaps several regions, in and around the Jewish-state of Israel in the Middle East. Its four million people live largely in the West Bank along the Jordan River, and in the Gaza Strip near Israel's border with Egypt. Israel occupies both the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It created Jewish settlements in each place, and has waged several small wars for
